Whatever It Takes

I wanted to share this very inspirational and motivational poem from my sponsor John Russell Terrier who has been a real inspiration to me and a great guide and friend.

Whatever It Takes

I am committed to doing whatever it takes.

The die’s been cast.
I’ve stepped over the line.
I’m out of the comfort zone.
The decision has been made.
I won’t look back, let up, slow down or back away.
I’m finished and done with low living,
small planning and colorless dreams.
I cannot live with tame visions, dwarfed goals, mundane
talking, or chintzy giving.
I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, or
lured away.
I will not allow myself to be turned
back, deluded or delayed.
I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, nor hesitate in the presence of adversity.
I will not negotiate at the table of the enemy, nor will I long for the pool of popularity.
I refuse to waste another minute in the maze of mediocrity.
I’m through with the old ways of thinking and living. I am a leader of many.

I am successful.

I am ready to pay the price no matter what the cost.
Bring it on.
I am ready for anything because here’s the deal…

I am committed to doing whatever it takes!

Effective Time Management and Working From Home

Here is an excerpt from an article I wrote recently online.

If like me you are a busy mother, full time employee and business woman, chances are you have created a method to your madness. If however, you would like to improve upon your time management skills both in your personal and work life, then I hope the following gives you some ideas to help achieve this.

I can't seem to do anything with out my Personal Diary Assistant. My head is like a seive at times, I found that having an electronic diary works for me. If however, you like the good old fashioned paper based diary, then these tips will work also.

First of all on a day to day basis, begin to block out your time. From the time you wake up to the time you go to bed, mark out what activities you wish to achieve in that time. Include the school run, domestic tasks such as housework or shopping as well as your day job if you have one. Equally important is marking out Family Time. Even though you may have started an online business to generate more income, does not mean your family life has to suffer. Then most of all and importantly you need to include valuable ME time. Time where you can unwind and relax, or tiem for the Gym or other social activities. Once those tasks are down, then look at the available free time you have. It will all become clearer on paper.

If you have a work from home business, then begin my marking out your personal development time, time for training and learning, talk to your sponsor about how much time should be spent on these activities. I suspect in the beginning it will be a lot of time. Let's face it, there will be a lot of reading, researching, planning and activition happening all at frightening speed. It can get overwhelming if you let it.

You can Be and Do Whatever You Put Your Mind To Do

I have been a fan of Anthony Robbins for a number of years. I loved his personal story of how he overcame adversity and turned his life around. I admire his love to helping others to succeed, his humbleness and the fact he has never forgotten where he came from.

I regularly listen to his CD set GIANT STEPS, of which there is also a book of the same title. His speeches are so inspiring and motivational, I have always wanted to see him at an event.

Well, about two years ago I got the chance to see him in person. I really could not afford going to the event, but worked hard at my business to build the additional income required to purchase my ticket and hotel room. I was on my way!
I went to a Anthony Robbins event at the Excel Centre in London. It was a four day event. I didn't know what to expect when I got there, but it was such an emotional event for me. I met so many people whom I knew personally before, and also met many new friends some of which I still keep in touch with.

I learnt alot about myself during those four days, it was a really intense programme. As part of that programme on DAY ONE, we all had to walk across hot coals. The fear and trepidation that came across me when the actual time came was awesome, but the emotion and the motivation from others around me gave me the confidence to step out on the white hot coals and walk 40 feet across the coals without getting burnt.

What did this tell me about myself? If you think it you can do it!

So you want to be a blogger!

You got something on your mind. You want to make a statement about it. You want to tell people about it. How? Blog it!
There are so many sites now where you can set up a blog easily, many have templates which you just plug into and start creating.your blog. For instance www.wordpress.com or www.blogspot.com are just a couple of websites which offer to allow you to set up FREE blogs.
So how do I present the layout of my blog?
Before you decide to start your blog think about what makes a successful blog.
- What should you be writing about?
-Is it the content? Is your blog interesting enough?
- Does you blog give tips and insight into your business?
- Is your blog well written?
The biggest issue about blogging is the time it can take. You need to research your topic and understand it before you write it. You may also want to research for content to add from other blogs or sites on the internet. All this takes time.
The topic of your blog is really important. A good blog can be used part of a marketing strategy. Your blog’s aim is to tell the world out there about you, your vision, your service, in short your brand whether it's a company or a person. Defining your topic is so important as the web has ‘spybots’ out there that trawl the web looking for labelled content. So it is important for you to tag your blog posts appropriately so that browsers can determine if it's of interest and list them in organic searches..
The beauty of blogging as part of your promotional strategy is that it can be adapted quickly to suit the results you are getting. You may find that one post alters your stats dramatically and if that happens you can use that information to write more in the same vein or to ban anything else along those lines. Read your stats - learn what your readers want from you.

All of this takes time but combined with other online marketing activity such as article campaigns, twitter, FaceBook etc, Direct Matches etc you can compile a really powerful marketing tool for your business or for yourself. If you don't have time, employ someone who does.

A Blog can be used to drive traffic to your website , to enhance you as a brand, increase traffic on your website or simply to tell the world about yourself or about what's bugging you..
Happy Blogging!

Who is Colette Morris - WorkfmhomeDiva - Laid open and bare!

Well who am I? Well I am Colette Morris, daughter, mother, friend, analyst, entrepreneur, nutritionist and mentor and motivator! As you can see many roles, to different people.

I thought I would write an article about me, who I am, some of what I have gone through in my life and what I strive to achieve.

I have always been a positive person from an early age, I give thanks to my father for inspiring me and teaching me to become an independent person, and that I could be and do whatever I put my mind to no matter what adversity I was up against. My father and mother were sticklers for education. Knowledge is power, I could hear my father say. He left school at 13 to go to work to support his mother in the carribbean, this was not unusual for that time. He never completed his education, but always wanted to become a doctor. He loved to read. He at one stage started night class in the UK to become a Doctor, but I guess his dreams were crushed when a family soon arrived and he gave this up to support his wife and children and mortgage.

Both my parents came from the Carribbean island of Jamaica to the United Kingdom to start a better life for their future. They met in England soon after they both arrived here and stayed together for over 40 years before my father was sadly taken away from us.

I remember life in the early days was not terribly easy for my family, but my parents never had credit cards or bank accounts only saving accounts. Anything they wanted they saved up and bought it with cash. We didnt have a multitude of money, but we never wanted for anything. I was not spoiled and did not have as much as some of my friends, but we were a close knit family and extended family and remain that way now. My father hated owing money to anyone. He managed to pay off his mortgage within 10 years purely by working two jobs to repay his loan off quickly. He has been my inspiration to do well in life, and I looked up to him, and as I grew older and wiser he looked up to me also. He was proud at how I turned out in life, I left school with a great education, but made a decision to go straight to work and not to go to university. He never showed his dissappointment with me, but encouraged me to develop my career all the way. I owned by first property at the age of 21, he 'borrowed' me some of the money for the deposit as i did not quite have enough. I made sure I repaid him back within a year. He was always there to give advise and lend me money from time to time and he at one point confided in me that he admired what I was doing, as he had wanted to own property, but was too scared to take the leap of faith and owe too much money at once.

I got married and had two boys, who are now strapping teenagers. My marriage didn't work out for one reason or another and I found myself single again 9 years ago, with two young boys then both under the age of 11 and it was during this time that I embarked on an amazing adventure that has changed my outlook and life so far. Little after my marriage broke up, this was a dark time for me. I found myself worrying that I now had no back up, no support financially and little or no savings. To cap it off, I found myself taking a redundancy package from my job of 21 years (I know I dont look like I have been working that long!) and it was during that time that I decided to work for myself. I became an IT Contractor. This was great for a few years, I loved the feeling of being independent, not relying on an employer telling me when to take my holidays, or days off, I loved the high income, the better lifestyle I could now afford for myself and my kids and being able to fix up my home how I liked. Working for myself had shown my children that they could work for theirselves and not for an employer when they were able to. Being with me, helped them become entrepreneurs themselves as young kids alwasy dreaming up ways to make more money or increase their pocket money to be able to save up for something they wanted to buy for themselves.
But, I my let down was that I wasn't saving up properly for my future. Then, four years later, I found the contracts starting to dry up and I knew I needed to find a work from home business to suppliment my full time income. I was searching online for 6 months until I found a really good weight loss company. I was a little overweight myself so I think this was why it really appealed to me. In my unhappy state with worrying about being on my own and not enough income to come in, I had begun to eat the wrong foods or snacks when I knew I shouldn't.

I embarked on this new Work from home business for 4 years, and was happy making an extra £1,500 per month, however it was hard work, and with having to call customers training calls with downline, attending weekend meetings I found I did not have enough time for myself or my boys, so this really wasn't the ideal for me. I must have spent over £8,000 or more during those 4 years with that company and in fairness I did also make money back, but I was not enough for me to break even. I put this down to experience and then I then began searching around online for another home business and came across another businesss venture, but again, this one did not work out.

My life at that time -- I was busy working living pay check to pay check. I had a major set back last year when my paternal Grandmother died, and as she was my father's mother, he had died, so it was left to me the oldest child to fly over to the carribbean to attend to her funeral arrangements. For this I used up the last of my savings and was now down to just 1 months worth of salary out of my emergency salary fund if by chance anything had happened. This was something I had learned with joining up for the Robert Allen Multiple Streams of Income programme. One of the first things to get out of debt was to ensure you had at least 6 months of your income in savings. I had used 5 months of this just to arrange my grandmothers funeral -- not to mention nearly losing my life over there at the same time by robbers! That is another story for another day. So on my return to the UK end of October November I began looking again for another way to earn money from home.

By chance one day tweeting away on twitter, I came across a 'tweet' and thought, this looks interesting and from there my life is changing in a really good way. I am now in business with a great bunch of people who are really supportive and encouraging, and they all want me to succeed and achieve my dreams. Being with this company has shown me what it is to be with the right company who are serious about each and everyone who joins them and ensure that they start their business in the proper and focussed manner, which was so unnlike my previous MLM, where some members did not want to share their 'secrets' of what was successful for them, and who were not supportive enough and who I found left you on your own to figure things out, while they made their monthly commissions and residual income from you just being underneath them in the company.

So, after 6 years of research, lessons learnt and challenges (not failures), and after finally finding my own way to success and discovering what I believe to be my true calling for wanting to help others achieve their potential and their dreams, I am now able to be in a position to help the new consultants I bring in to my primary opportunity sort through the 'clutter' and focus on those activities that actually produce results, so that they go into profit quickly.

Because thanks to the leaders in my company who have spent thousands of dollars on books, courses, seminars and conferences, the tens of thousands between them that they spent trying and testing various marketing strategies, and the hours and hours they have spent in front of their computer screen -- thanks to all that, I now actually have something to offer the market. Something that can help others who are struggling to take their businesses to the next level.

Thinking Your Way out of a Negative Situation

Devilish Thoughts That Stop You Succeeding

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you know you reflecting back on the event that you have put yourself in that position through the shear power of your thoughts.

Where instead of having faith in yourself to say things will work out positively instead little doubts creep into your head and you think inwardly to yourself ‘ this won’t work, I know it won’t work’, but projecting the I hope it works thought out too, thus creating areas of conflict and self doubt. Then as the event or activity is completed you find that what ever the task or activity was, just ends up not working, that devilish little voice says ‘I knew it wouldn’t work, I just knew it!’

I had been in this situation many a time, and even now sometimes have nagging thoughts about uncertainties of activities or events. I try my upmost to put them to the back and to remain positive and upbeat about things, but you know that naught little thought will try to enter your head at some point during your day or moment. SO how do you get around those times of self doubt.

Visualise
Your thoughts have a frequency, and as you know frequency tends to travel. So in perspective your thoughts travel out there in the wider ether, and bounce around coming back to you now and then. These thoughts seem to attract like minded thoughts and you find you are moved towards people who think in a similar way to you, thus collectively if you move in a circle where thoughts are mainly negative, then they will become self fulfilling and thoughts and frequency and energy will emit back to the source namely you!

If you look at some of our top athletes or sports people, they use visualising techniques to achieve success. They already visualise in their heads the whole game or race from the beginning to the end, with them focused to being the best, or a winner. They visualise themselves winning, crossing the line, the feeling, the emotion, the cheer of the crowd, the time / result they wish to achieve. It is already played out in their mind, over and over and over again.

Thus, when playing or taking part in the event, they have already taken part in their mind, in their vision, they have already achieved the end result, so when it is time for the actual event, they already send out thoughts on how it will turn out, they have seen in their minds eye that they have won, achieved the fastest time, highest number of goals or whatever achievement they had in their mind.

Techniques To Remain Positive
Have a vision, a goal. Like the athlete visualise that goal over and over and over, until it is comfortable and sticks in your mind, like an event that has already taken place, so when you are achieving your goal, you have visualised it so strong you feel the results as you begin to achieve them.
Read Positive Attitude Books. There are some great self help books out there to help you to focus and to think more positively:
• The Secret - Rhona Bryne,
• Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude - Napoleon Hill and W Clement Stone
Hang around with positive people. Try to stear clear of negative people and negative thoughts as they will only prey on your mind and push the positivity away from your upmost forefront of your mind.
Listen to Music. You may wish to find a song or piece of music to listen to or play which is uplifting and positive when you have moments of self doubt, negativity or feel down.

Quick Goal Setting Tips

Found these great tips on line for goal setting, thought you could use them....
You can subscribe to their site by clicking here

1. Make goals meaningful. Goal setting for the sake of goal setting almost always ends in disappointment. Goal setting is simply a tool to use in achieving a favorable outcome -- what some people call a "Dream."

2. Use positive language and the present tense when setting a goal. It is better to say "I weigh a healthy, trim and fit 185 pounds" than "I want to lose 20 pounds."

3. Always put your goals in writing. Every expert agrees that setting a goal without putting it in writing drastically reduces your chances of success.

4. Goal setting should take place in every area of your life, including Health, Relationships, Spiritual, Career and Financial.

5. Setting Life Goals will add dimension, excitement and texture to your life.

6. Failure doesn't always mean that you did something wrong in your goal setting or implementation. It may just mean that the time you allotted for success wasn't adequate. A thorough review process should be undertaken before setting the goal again.

Activities for Achieving Goals

Have you always wanted to know why some people consistently hit their goals and targets while others don't or can't seem to? Here are some activities which if actioned on a regular consistent basis can help change your life and attitude.

Jim Rohn, the great philospher once said "Life is influenced by how we feel. What you know is where you will arrive" and another great quote by Jim Rohn which says it all for me "Direction determines Destination".

Value of Your Sight

Today I had to visit the Opticians to perform a regular routine eye examination. I had to undergo some extensive tests after the optician had taken my eye pressures and found them to be a little on the high side. One reason for this he mentioned was the possibility of my developing glaucoma at a later stage in my life.

It just made me think about all the things I am currently grateful for by having my sight, and all the things I need to do with my life with sight. Not that a life without sight would stop me from achieving what I set to achieve, I may just have to get there another way, but I will get there.

Having sight is important, so is having a vision. Having a vision does not need sight, having vision is making something you want so real in your mind, you can see it visually, mentally and feel it physically. You can feel the emotions, touch, smells that your vision arouses in you. Imagine if you were without sight how much more those visions would mean to you, how much more driven you would be to achieve.

Whilst life with sight is for most of us a given, for the few it is precious and for the ones who are born totally blind it is a sense that has not been experience, but one that is not lost as the others take over to cover the loss of sight, your mind and imagination takes over to bring you that experience of what it would be like to 'see' the visions you have in your head.

So today I figured, live my life with a vision of a blind person, so that my dreams, my goals are so real and clear in my mind and that I carry them with me every single day as if they were my only way of 'seeing' my future with sight....

To your personal growth and success!
