Points to Consider When Looking At A Home Business

If you have never had an online business before, or indeed are not aufait with the internet world of marketing, then starting an online business can be quite daunting. You can make money on the internet selling products, services or information.

So where do you ultimately start? First always do your due diligence. Don't try to find the 'best online business', or home business because there isn't any one in particular that anyone can recommend. Instead, go with what you would be happy to use, sell, or provide. If the home business connects with you, then look into it further. Try not to sign up straight away, leave it for a day to mull over the information you have just gone through intensely. Go over it again, and if you have any questions or queries get in touch with the site owner for more detail.

If your home business has a product line, are they consumables, information, or services? Does the DSA (Direct Selling Association), or any other governing body govern them. This is a sign that they have to abide by certain business ethics. Look at the companies policies, ethics and if they have a head office, check out the head office ratings.

With Consumables, they may have a limited geographical selling range, as legally you need to obtain agreement from individual countries to allow your consumables to be sold in those countries, this is something that can take months if not years to gain agreement. Some countries have strict controls over chemicals, and consumable products that enter their markets.

End of Year Reflections

I have been amazed at how quickly this year has gone by. I read somewhere that as we get older the years seem to go by quicker, and that certainly seems true.

I remember starting out this year with my goals, objectives and desires. Having written them down in my journal, periodically through the year I have looked at then, tweaked them were required and ticked off those that had been achieved. Having time to look back at the ones that have not been achieved, I look to why I didn't manage to achieve them. Wasn't I focussed enough to work on them? Did I do enough ACTION to achieve them?

Sometimes LIFE gets in the way and stops us from achieving, but sometimes we need to step back in order to be able to see that. Too often we plough on through these times of adversity or crises called LIFE without really truly checking whether the actions that we are doing or not doing will lead us to our overall goals, dreams and objectives.

So, what are we going to do that will make the difference? That is the question to ask yourself. Only you will have that anwser.

Here's to success for all of you for 2010. Reflect back to the past to learn, and take forward those lessons to the future, for the present just know where you are heading and you will definately get there in good time.

The reason for my doing this review was the fact that I wanted to look at a home business opportunity and did some background research on Herbalife to see if this was a suitable opportunity. Through the tragic death of his mother, who had desperately tried to lose weight and died through medication for weight loss, this set Mark Hughes on his quest to find a safe way to lose weight for many others. Herbalife International was founded in 1980, by Mark Hughes. Since then it has expanded and is now available in over 65 countries worldwide. They have over 1 million plus distributors who work both online and offline selling the products direct to clients. Herbalife is a direct selling company. Herbalife shares (HLF) are listed on the NASDAQ.

Products

Quality controls behind Herbalife products are always in place. Their raw materials including botanical ingredients are sourced from reputable suppliers around the world and are manufactured in accordance with established quality standards. Herbalife suppliers and manufacturers are obligated to follow Herbalifes written procedures that are verified by periodic audits and inspections. Compensation Plan

It is relatively simple to become a "Supervisor" level distributor. When you become an Herbalife distributor, you are a basic "Distributor" and can earn your way towards 50k President level. How do I Get Leads To My Site Without Paying an Absolute Fortune

Well Done! You made that crucial decision and started your MLM or online business. Woohoo! Then you get a call from your sponsor, and they ask you to go write a list of names, your warm list, of your friends, family and colleagues, then call then and show them your business presentation.

You are so good at this, you find that a few weeks later 80% or so had joined you and you now have a thriving downline and have already broken company records for your earnings in your first 30 days. Then you snapped out of ‘dream land’ and came back crashing down to earth…

In reality don’t be surprised or disheartened with the negativity, sceptism or lack of support, demonstrated by those whom you considered to be your family and friends, this is perfectly normal. You must not let it get you down, remain positive and don’t quit.

A few ‘newbies’ do have some success when they show their business to their warm market, but let’s not forget that they are in a very small minority. This ‘old school MLM’ approach may have worked very well 5-6 years ago, but times have changed drastically especially over the last two to three years with the internet, social media sites and a host of new marketing methods available to networkers, chasing down prospects ‘old school MLM style’ to join your business has become outdated.

The secret to being successful in most markets today depends on your ability to attract prospects to you. You need to find a way for your prospects to find your website and sign up of their own free will. This is called lead generation and is the life-force of your business. It is important for you to be able to generate leads to continue to grow your business. It is simple, ‘no leads equals no business’. But can’t I just purchase some ‘hot leads?’ No. You will be wasting your money, and I can talk from experience. You need hot leads that have responded to you, not leads that have been sold on to three of four other network marketers from different companies who, when you contact them are no longer interested, or cannot remember completing a survey with their info.

So just how do you generate leads to your new MLM or online business?

Here are 3 key things you must do.
• 1. Make a 90 Day Plan
• 2. Work to a budget
• 3. Stick to both 1 & 2!

Making a 90 day plan of action, what are your objections, what do you want to achieve in those 90 days. What marketing methods are you going to use to help you generate leads, how much ‘action’ will you need to take to enable you to generate those leads.
Working out a budget can be equally difficult especially if you are new to MLM or online business, and have very little in advertising money to begin with, after all the point of starting your MLM or online business was to be able to generate extra cash right? The important thing is to set a realistic figure for your budget one that you are reasonably comfortable with to start.

Here are some free tips on what you can do to get your lead generation started using social media which will cost you next to nothing.

1. Sign up to MySpace or Facebook (or both!) and start to network. This is free. Develop your profile for your business. Then go out there and find new friends and groups to join. Think of it like a party, when you go to a party you circle around, meet friends and make new friends you laugh you share information get the point here? Yes, these are social networks and people are using their profiles to meet new friends and develop relationships, but let us not forget this is what network marketing is all about. If you are in network marketing you are in the business of developing and maintaining relationships. It is important not to pitch your business straight away to new contacts, but develop the relationship and trust first. Your profile gives you the perfect opportunity to showcase you and your business, just let that do the talking first and let your new contacts follow through themselves.

2. Start a blog. A blog is an easy way to give yourself an online presence and is excellent for branding yourself. You want to be able to demonstrate that you are a leader and know what you are talking about that way prospects will be attracted to you. People join leaders, so if you don’t appear to be a leader, they will find someone who is. . Use your blog to brand and market YOU, not your company. Blogs enable you to get free traffic from the search engines. If you can provide valuable content that is indexed by the search engines you will be ranked in the organic listings. Why pay for ranking (ppc) when you can achieve high rankings for free clicks? PS handy tip: Don’t forget to link your blog to your face book or myspace feeds, this will increase your search engine rankings.

3. Article marketing. Write articles for distribution across the internet. You can publish your articles on your blog as well as numerous article directories. www.ezinearticles.com are always looking for new content and so when they use your article you get the exposure when your article is emailed to their lists. Use the ‘ resource box’ or ‘author bio’ which is where you can put your link back to your website. Over time, as you submit more articles, people will read your bio or resource box which in turn will result in an avalanche of free traffic to your website.

Knowing A Great Opportunity

Some people go through life missing out on a host of 'great opportunities', why? Because they are oblivious to the fact of when the opportunity has presented itself. I was such a person many, many years ago. A young woman going through life, excited and full of energy of what life had to offer. Wanting to experience most things but without thought, clarity or purpose to it. I was just going through the motions, like most people. Working a 9 - 5,(in reality more 9 - 8 most days!), paying my mortgage, bills and car payments. You see, I wanted to have a certain standard of life, which to me meant more money, therefore I had to find a way to climb the career ladder to get more money, and when I had more money I spent more money.

Now along the way, many opportunities presented themselves to me, but I didn't see them at the time. I was not looking out for them. Not until I had missed one or two crucial opportunities and these were pretty big ones, did I look back at my short working life to see if there were any more that I had missed, and sure enough there were plenty. At this point, I had begun my road of 'self development' starting out with Dale Carnegie - 'How to Win Friends and Influence People', before progressing on to other authors and books which helped to change my attitude mentally, changed my outlook and philosophy on life totally, that only then did opportunties them started to present themselves to me.

The important thing is to recognise when you are being presented with an opportunity. Sometimes it is pretty obvious when one is presented, sometimes not so obvious. What I recognised for me was that sometimes in the face of adversity, great opportunities arose, because I was actively seeking them!

Now, most people myself included, when you are in the midst of adversity, sometimes you get overwhelmed and cannot see the 'woods for the trees', and tend to 'pity' yourself. But, if you look to those moments and look past the situation, you may see a great opportunity present itself to you. You see, it is about remaining positive and focussed, yes there are times we do come up against tight situations and challenges, but working through the solutions can manifest opportunities that would never have presented themselves otherwise.

Sometimes, opportunities arise as if out of 'thin air'. You have to be ready for those. You need to act quickly in some cases as it may be a limited opportunity and to get the most out of it, you need to make quick decisions and act. I have been in a few of those situations too, sometimes I am able to act, most times not.

Life is a funny old game to play, and it is also very short. Opportunties great and small exist around us every day, we have just got to start looking for them, and where possible act on them, the rewards are priceless.
