Recession, What Recession? Traditional Business Owners Thinking Smarter

The economy is in a bad way globally.  The 'recession' has been happening for the past 18 months now and there are no signs of a let up.

The housing market slump has still not climbed out of the downfall hit by defaults on mortgages.  The economy is many countries are suffering the effects of borrowing more money than is available within the existing economy for the government to repay hence tax payers taking the brunt of things.

Countries going broke due to the debt they are in such as Greece, Portugal and Ireland, having to be bailed out by the rest of the european community.
The cost of living has risen in hidden ways, pay cuts, raise in income tax, reduction in benefits, petrol and food raises.

But, there is a community of entrepreneurs who do not seem to be suffering too much with the recession because their online business opportunitites are making them money.  How?
Many more people who are being hit by the recession as described above are looking for other ways to substitute their income, and more and more and turning to online business opportunities.  Joining a Home Business opportunity has never been more exciting.  However, joining the right business opportunity can be a nightmare to navigate around the many 'scams'that there are online.  How do you know you have a great business opportunity?

Facebook Marketing Tip - Creating a Fan Page

Many people when they first create a facebook page as part of their business soon realise that there are other venues that Facebook has provided in order for you to get the most out of advertising your products or services online and for increasing your personal brand.

A regular facebook account is great for building up your contacts and friends. however, the limit to how many friends you can have is set to 5000. Have a facebook fan page allows you unlimited friends and has so many other features to offer.

Attitude is Important..

Attitude is key to your success, and in truth it is also key to your failures.  We must learn to learn from our failures, whether they are in our home business or our personal lives,  have a positive outcome from these at times when it can be hard to find a positive outcome from a negative situation, but look deep, it will be there. 
Attitude is the difference between having a will to live, and giving up on life.  SO many give up on their dreams and their lives without really fighting.  Having the right attitude helps the fighter in you, gives you the courage and determination to keep going, when others around you may have given up.  

Self development helps to give you the right attitude, and it is important to keep learning and growing each day. Plug into an area of positiveness, arm yourself against the negative or wrong attitude types. Build up your internal armour of self gratitude and positive attitude and you will go far...

Networking Your Way To Success

The question to ask yourself is this... 'are you mixing with like minded people?' who you mix with with determine your success. I don't know how many books I have read that have said in order to be a success, it is advisable to be around successful people. Why? well let's look at it shall we. You are influenced greatly by those who are around you, and if you are surrounded by successful people, you will begin to think like them, act like them, and hold yourself up like them.

So, that being said, if you are currently not going out and mixing with successful people, there is only so far in life that you can go. Being a part of a physical group, or online one or being able to talk to others via email or mailing each other is a great way to not only share ideas, but to brainstorm issues or problems with others who are then able to provide you with possible solutions

Albert Einstein and Napoleon Hill talk about 'Master Mind Groups'. This is where a group of like minded people meet up once a week or month or whenever they decide to, and each person is successful in different areas of industry, life etc. You are then able to brainstorm business ideas, or problems together to come to a resolution that meets your needs. The Master Mind Group is not for gossiping or small talk it is about discussing ways to improve each others lives or business. It is about staying around people who are positive, like minded and who have things in common with you.

It is amazing what you can accomplish when you don't care who gets the credit!

There are many social networking sites where you can begin your own mastermind groups or join existing ones.  Sites like www.ecademy.com or www.linkedin.com,www.betternetworker.com are really good for networking with like minded business people, and people who are able to help solve issues or problems. These are just a few that I have found really useful, and there are many more out there, so let me know if you find any more useful sites by leaving a comment on this blog postecademy. Build up a good rapport online and take it from there.

There are also forums that you can join on most topics, just google for a forum of your choice and begin to network with like minded people.

5 Key Tips For Public Speaking

Public speaking is the number one fear in most people, the number two would be fear of dying for most people. So many people get stressed out at the thought of speaking in public that many of us would like to avoid this problem entirely, but this is hard to do. If you are a small business owner, or as part of your current job you are expected to provide presentations to others, then you need to get over your fear of public speaking. If we want to be leaders or achieve anything meaningful in our lives, we will often need to speak to groups, large and small, to be successful.

The big secret behind the truth about public speaking is is IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE STRESSFUL! If you keep just a few key principles in mind, speaking in public will soon become an invigorating and satisfying experience for you.

So here are my five key tips for great public speaking:

1. Relax - remember the audience are there to hear what you have to say. They are looking forward to what it is you are going to deliver. They want you to succeed, therefore they are behind you.

2. Realise it is not about you - Remember, the essence of public speaking is to give your audience something of value. The audience are there to hear the message you are going to deliver. The purpose of public speaking is not for you to get something out of it from your audience. It is about YOU giving useful information to your audience.

End of Year Reflections

I have been amazed at how quickly this year has gone by. I read somewhere that as we get older the years seem to go by quicker, and that certainly seems true.

I remember starting out this year with my goals, objectives and desires. Having written them down in my journal, periodically through the year I have looked at then, tweaked them were required and ticked off those that had been achieved. Having time to look back at the ones that have not been achieved, I look to why I didn't manage to achieve them. Wasn't I focussed enough to work on them? Did I do enough ACTION to achieve them?

Sometimes LIFE gets in the way and stops us from achieving, but sometimes we need to step back in order to be able to see that. Too often we plough on through these times of adversity or crises called LIFE without really truly checking whether the actions that we are doing or not doing will lead us to our overall goals, dreams and objectives.

So, what are we going to do that will make the difference? That is the question to ask yourself. Only you will have that anwser.

Here's to success for all of you for 2010. Reflect back to the past to learn, and take forward those lessons to the future, for the present just know where you are heading and you will definately get there in good time.

Dreams are the door way to Visualising

Listen to this, when you were a kid, didnt you have big dreams, especially around this time of year... Christmas around the corner, wonder what Sant is going to bring me this year. I have been good for mom and dad, so I should get what I want right.....

We visualised, we told our parents and our friends what we wanted right..

Well let us get back to that stage when we were kids and we really really wanted something badly, whether it was the best dolls house on the market, or the best laptop or radio car or what ever it was for you then. Can you remember how you felt, how every bone in your body felt thinking about your dream present for christmas. Do you remember looking at your dream present every day in the toy section of the catalogue?

As an adult we now call this visualisation - dream boards, wish lists, target, goals, hopes and dreams...

So get back to your childhood and now put down your goals, dreams, hopes and what you want out of life onto your dreamboard, visualise and look at it daily, feel it deep in your bones as how you would feel if you had reached / received it now.

Visualising is great, but you need to have action to achieve............if you have a deep desire you will find a way to action.

Reasons Why MLM and Network Marketing Don’t Work For All

So many of us professionals have broken dreams of working from home, or earning enough money to be come financially free and that being the case become enticed into finding that lucrative work from home MLM or Network Marketing opportunity. There are many of them out there, Agel, Amway, Herbalife, Lighter Life, Betterware, Avon , Mary Kay to name a few

I know I have been there, You listen to what your upline tells you, make a list of your friends and family, call your warm market, use them to practice talking to people, get your technique right, before we unleash you on ‘paid advertising’ purchasing leads, or google PPC. Many of us are not sales people, and therefore struggle with this concept. Some take to it like a duck to water, and do go on successfully to earn enough money to quit their job and live the lifestyle they dreamed of, working at home. While to others its as alien as the planet Mars, they just can’t get to grips with talking to people, recruiting, advertising or retailing the products

So why is MLM not working for you?
Could it be some of the reasons outlined below,

‘not really your thing’,
‘can’t get to grips with the concept’,
‘don’t want to be using/buying/selling products’,
‘can’t work out who your market is’
‘too busy with home life, working life let alone spending what little of your spare time you have on a work at home business’.
‘ good on retailing, but crap on recruiting and visa versa’.


The times have changed
It is time to take a check and review the business you are currently in. It is now the era of social media marketing, new style home businesses are opening up, more online related than consumable product related. There are lots of different opportunities out there that are not network marketing, or MLM style companies to move into that can earn you a modest income within your first year, and which can give you the opportunity to look at realistically working from home within the next 12 – 18 months instead of 3 – 5 years in most MLM opportunities.
There are bigger and better compensation plans than those of traditional MLM or Network Marketing companies where you earn 25 – 50% of a product sale where the most expensive item is probably $200.
Instead, with new style opportunities there are types of compensation plan that will make you anywhere from $200 per sale to $1,000 – 10,000 per sale.

MLM and Network Marketing are a Dying Breed
The bottom line is this, MLM and Networking marketing have now come of age and are due for retirement. More and more MLMers and Network Marketers are moving away from those arena’s and taking up positions in the new style home business opportunities, that have residual income, funded proposals and the possibility of other streams of valuable income.

There are newer, better, efficient ways of operating a home business that does not have to cost a fortune when first starting up, apart from your initial outlay which is still far less than setting up a franchise or shop, and the only thing to then consider is your possible ongoing costs for websites and memberships.
