Lessons From My Day Job That Have Helped Me In My Network / MLM Business

Some of you may not be in a position where you are able to work from home full time, and are still currently working for an employer.
Think about this, have you ever wanted to just go back to sleep after the alarm clock goes because you just haven't got the motivation or drive to get up and go to work?
I know a few people who are in that position now as we speak!

Wouldnt' it be nice to be in a position where if you do wake up early enough in the morning and you don't have the drive or motivation to get up at that point, that you could just chill further in your bed and not worry about answering to a boss.

What we all need to remember is that our jobs are not for "life" , and that "life" has a terrible habit of getting in the way of one's plans.

It is all too important to recognise that a job is not for life as it was say when our parents were young, in the age of the industrial revolution, now we are in the 'information age' a job can be so volatile, you need to have a second option available in case 'Mr Corporate or Ms Corporate, decide to pull the rug from underneath your feel and throw you out onto the retirement heap or the voluntary redundance heap.  Yes I have been there before (the voluntary redundancy route!  I am too young to be thinking of retirine.

So with having a Plan B in mind, here's what you are going to have to do...

  • figure out what transferable skills have you got.  Can y ou type (even if it is only one finger), can you send an email, are you good at talking on the phone, are you easy to teach and can you learn from anyone regardless of their age to you?
  • think long and hard about what marketing product you can see yourself marketing
  • think about how many hours realistically do you have for a home based part time business, dont forget walking the dog and taking the kids to school!
  • think about whether you want to sell products or services as this will be key as to what type of network marketing group you get on board with. Do your due diligence either way.
  • how much money are you going to be willing to invest?  Money?? Arghhh, can't I do this for free?  No is the simple answer.  You can do it for less, but not for free if it is going to be an opportunity that helps you work your way our of your day job, come on let's face it, do you want to be paid peanuts or big bucks?  Which will get you retiring from your day job quicker?

Facebook Users Beware New Facebook Features

This is a great article taken from Mashable re Facebook's new features...

If you didn’t watch Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook announcements last week — and of course the vast majority of Facebook users did not — you may be in for a surprise. Aside from the dramatically redesigned Facebook Timeline profile pages, which roll out in the coming weeks (and which I’ve grown to love), Facebook’s new system to auto-share what you do around the web may catch many Facebook addicts off guard.
In fact, even those people who know exactly how this new feature works may need to be on guard against sharing some seriously embarrassing updates.
For those not in the loop: Facebook is making sharing even easier by automatically sharing what you’re doing on Facebook-connected apps. Instead of having to “Like” something to share it, you’ll just need to click “Add to Timeline” on any website or app, and that app will have permission to share your activity with your Facebook friends.
What activity, you ask? It could be the news articles you read online, the videos you watch, the photos you view, the music you listen to, or any other action within the site or app. Facebook calls this auto-sharing “Gestures.”
Can you see the possible issue here?

How to Improve your web stats on you tube

This is going to be short, so don't blink or you will miss it...

If you upload a video to you tube, you want to spread the word as much as possible.

Now normally at the end of a video you can see the 'share' button (see below)

Well if you click on this then click on 'show options'  (see below) you will get other options to post to myspace, tumblr, digg and so on. So now you can post away to your various social media sites and increase the number of times your video will be seen.

I told you, you might miss this if you blink.  Another cool tip brought to you by workfmhomediva.

Your turn:  Tell us of any other 'share features' you have found to make it easier to spread your posts or videos online in the comments below...
