Lack of focus can be a reason for procrastination as is lack of good time management and organizational skills.
So what can be done to help improve and stop procrastination.
- Start using a 'to do' list - put all your tasks down on paper or electronically. Whatever you find easy to use.
- Prioritise your tasks. Are the tasks listed really necessary, can you delegate? What is urgent to be done now, and what can be done later
- Put a timescale against your to do lists and priorities . Make it realistic and try to stick to them
- Focus on completing one thing at a time, and try not to start several tasks at once leaving them part way through. It's much easier working on one thing at a time.
- Sometimes you have just got to do the horrible tasks first. Don't think about it, just do it..
